Today, I will be sharing a recipe for Malpua without sugar syrup. This dish is very dear to Lord Vishnu and is traditionally offered to him before being distributed to others. so let’s get started!

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk (lukewarm)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cream
  • 1/4 cup fine semolina
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/2 tablespoon fine fennel powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Dry fruits for garnishing

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and semolina.
  2. Add milk little by little to make a batter. Sugar will dissolve automatically after 10 minutes.
  3. Add ghee and cream to the batter. These will enhance the taste and texture of the malpua.
  4. Cover the batter and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Add fennel powder and cardamom powder to the batter.
  6. If needed, adjust the consistency of the batter by adding more milk or flour.
  7. In a wide pan, heat ghee. The ghee should be around half to one inch in depth.
  8. To check if the ghee is hot enough, drop a small amount of batter into it. If the batter comes right up, the ghee is ready.
  9. Pour the batter into the pan using a spoon, making round shapes. Cook on medium heat until the malpua rises and turns golden brown.
  10. Remove excess oil by pressing the malpua gently.
  11. Garnish with dry fruits.
  12. Enjoy the delicious malpua with your family!

With 200 grams of flour, you can make approximately 22 malpuas. Adjust the quantity according to your preference. These malpuas are perfect for the rainy season and will surely be loved by everyone. Give it a try!
